On today’s rhetorical devices test, was it easier to recognize devices from their definitions or identify them in quotations? Explain why, and discuss a device that challenged you, if any. What did this experience reveal about how well your study habits prepared you?
Prompt: As of writing this, I have not taken the test. However, I assume it is easier to identify rhetorical devices by a definition. Specifically, litotes and antithesis feel too similar to each other. I get them confused consistently when I see them in quotations. As of right now, I have studied by looking over my notes, looking at flashcards, and trying to find examples in real life. Hopefully, this will be enough to get me a grade I am satisfied with. Summary: We completed our blog post and took our test on rhetorical devices. Reflection: Although rhetorical devices all mesh together in my mind, it is important to recognize all of them. They can allow one to understand whether an argument is effective or not.
